Speed-dating, a novel approach to business projects...........
On Thursday, 22 May 2008 Scottish Enterprise, in association with the business school Careers Support Service, set up a 'speed-dating' event for companies that wished to take on a MBA student for the summer. This was based on a successful partnership between Scottish Enterprise and the Business School, initiated by Irene Aitkenhead Taylor, and which saw over 15 projects made available in 2007.
The companies were asked if they would find benefit from a variety of services, ranging from feasibility studies, detailed market research, marketing strategy and positioning, strategic and high level business consultancy.
Reports from the successful event described an excellent turn out from the students eager to present themselves to some of the 13 small to medium-sized Scottish businesses attending, and that the companies were impressed with the quality and enthusiasm of the students. To date there have been around 20 projects offered.
