HRM in partnership with the Cranfield Trust

Professor Dennis NicksonThe Department of Human Resource Management is working in partnership with the Cranfield Trust, one of the leading professional skills volunteering organisations in the UK, to promote volunteering amongst its alumni. With a register of over 600 volunteers with MBAs and other professional qualifications, the Cranfield Trust works across the UK, supporting more than 200 charities a year with free management consultancy projects.

Amanda Tincknell, Chief Executive of the Trust, said, "We're pleased to Dennis Nicksonhave the opportunity to work with the HRM alumni of Strathclyde. We have been delighted by the initial response to the partnership and hope that many more alumni will come forward to support the work of the Cranfield Trust."

HR skills are a highly valued resource in the voluntary sector and volunteering for one of the Cranfield Trust's projects is an excellent way of donating time and management expertise to help a non-profit organisation manage its resources effectively, benefitting the lives of many individuals. The projects are flexibly tailored to fit around work and other commitments, and are supported by a local Project Manager.

Professor Dennis Nickson, Department of Human Resource Management, said, "We're delighted to have the opportunity to work with the Cranfield Trust in facilitating opportunities for our alumni to work with a number of charitable organisations. By contributing their valuable professional knowledge to help a wide range of organisations, our alumni are providing an important resource in support of the Cranfield Trust's excellent work."
