Omani alumni association

Thirty-eight Omani MBA alumni met together on Sunday evening 17th January with Professors Colin Eden and Fran Ackermann to inaugurate a new Oman Strathclyde Alumni Association. A committee was formed and meetings will start in the near future. The Association expects to forge links with the active Associations in Bahrain and Dubai.

MBA presentation ceremonies

Presentation ceremonies for those who completed their MBA at SBS's partner institutes in the United Arab Emirates took place in January.

Bahrain

The presentation ceremony to mark the graduation of 34 students at Strathclyde's partner institution, the Royal University for Women in Bahrain, took place on January 19. Thirty-four students received certificates for successfully completing their MBA at the ceremony. Among the officials at the ceremony were SBS associate dean and director of the international division, Professor Colin Eden, professor of strategy and management, and Professor Fran Ackermann, Director of the MBA, RUW executive committee member Walid al Zamil and RUW President Professor Mazin Jumah.

Dubai

The Dubai presentation ceremony took place at the Higher Colleges of Technology, Abu Dhabi Women's College on January 23. There were 71 graduates with 15 different nationalities represented. Of those who graduated, 12 were awarded distinctions. Amongst those at the ceremony were Professor Colin Eden, associate dean, Ron Bradfield, Director, Strathclyde Business School UAE, Ranjit Gajendra, regional manager UAE and Gulf, Dr Catherine Demangeot and Dr Sankaran. Advisory board member Amaar Shams made the opening address and Ms Hamda Saeed Khalaf Al-Otaiba made the graduate speech at the ceremony which was attended by approximately 300 friends, family and centre staff.

Oman

The Oman presentation ceremony took place on January 18 at the College of Banking & Financial Studies, with 28 MBA graduates receiving certificates. Amongst the dignitaries at the ceremony was His Excellency Sayyed Hamed Bin Hilal Al Busaidi, Undersecretary of Ministry for Manpower for Labour.
