Tourism research work Down Under

Professor Richard Butler, Emeritus Professor in SBS, spent three weeks in January as an invited researcher at the Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management at Griffith University Gold Coast campus in Queensland, Australia. Professor Butler was invited by the Dean of Research of the Business School to work with colleagues on research dealing with climate change and tourism.

Professor Butler was also a guest of the Cooperative Research Centre (CRC) for Sustainable Tourism based at Griffith University, which he had visited as Chair of a Federal Government Review Committee in 2006. Professor Butler also presented a research seminar on 'Tourism Development: Standing on the Shoulders of Giants; the Role of Key Individuals in Shaping the Face of Tourism'.
