Bahrain students win local round of investment research challenge

Bapna Modayil, Kanushree Prasad and Joel George

A team of three MBA students from the Bahrain centre have won their local round of the CFA Institute Global Investment Research Challenge. The challenge is run by local CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) societies in conjunction with participating universities, and team presentations are locally evaluated by high-profile panels of heads of research, portfolio managers, and chief investment officers from the world's top firms.

This annual educational initiative is designed to promote best practices in equity research among the next generation of analysts through hands-on mentoring and intensive training in company analysis and presentation skills.

As a result of winning the local round, the team - Bapna Modayil, Kanushree Prasad and Joel George - will now advance to regional competitions. If successful at that level, they will proceed to the global final, which will be held on April 17 2010 in Hong Kong.
