Scottish MBA Fair success

The third Scottish MBA Fair, held at Strathclyde Business School on February 5, was once again a successful event. In the face of a challenging job market for graduates, the joint venture between SBS and University of Edinburgh School of Business managed to attract 20 companies with definite plans to recruit. The event was also attended by around 250 students from business schools all over Scotland and the North of England, including St Andrews, Glasgow, Stirling, and Newcastle. Observers from Aston and Birmingham Business Schools also attended to see how the event was run, with a view to running a Midlands event later in the year.

Don Leslie of BLT Management Consultancy commented that the event "reflected well on the school", while David McCormack from IBM "enjoyed the Fair". Other comments - from companies such as PwC, Accenture, Procter and Gamble and the Scottish Relocation Advisory Service - concluded that it was: "certainly useful" and "worthwhile"; attracted "strong students who showed great interest" and "a great event - always is".

Plans are already underway for 2011.
