Conference to focus on high-growth firms

Professor Colin Mason of the Hunter Centre for Entrepreneurship is one of the organisers for an international conference held under the auspices of the Scottish Branch of Regional Studies Association at Stirling Management Centre, University of Stirling, on April 20 and 21.

The conference will look at Gazelles - a name given to high growth firms in advanced industrial economies which are often able to continue growing during recessions, and the conference aims to explore these firms from a multi-disciplinary perspective. The conference will include papers of a theoretical, conceptual, empirical and policy-oriented nature, and will include papers on high growth firms in Canada, Russia, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Netherlands, Italy and the UK. A special volume of a refereed journal comprising a selection of the best papers presented at the conference is planned.
