Professor gives television talk on tourism in Macau

While teaching an undergraduate module for SBS in Hong Kong as part of the Tourism Management degree, Professor Richard Butler was interviewed on a television talk show in Macau about tourism and the future of Macau.

With tourism as Macao's main industry, issues such as sustained attractiveness and competitiveness as the travel and hospitality industry intensifies in the region become of greater importance. Tourism and travel is dynamic with no guarantees, open to influences from changing consumer tastes, travel behaviours, technology advancements, and newer tourism offerings. The show discussed issues of tourism capacities, and the challenges behind Macao's tourism diversification.

Glenn McCartney was the host of the programme, TDM Talkshow, and is a former PhD student of Professor Butler's when he was at Surrey University.
