International Labour Organization contribution for professor

Professor Tom Baum (Human Resource Management) has contributed a major input into the International Labour Organization's "New Developments and Challenges in the Hospitality and Tourism Sector - Impact on Employment, HRD and Industrial Relations" which is the background issues paper for discussion at the ILO's Global Dialogue Forum for the Hotels, Catering, Tourism Sector later this year.

Christine Reid is Fellow of the RSA

Christine Reid, learning resources manager at Strathclyde Business School, has been nominated and accepted as a Fellow of the Royal Society for the Encouragement of the Arts, Manufactures and Commerce (RSA). The RSA Fellowship is an international community of over 27,000 achievers and influencers from a wide array of backgrounds and professions.

Distinguished by the letters FRSA, Fellows are social entrepreneurs to scientists, community leaders to commercial innovators, artists and journalists to architects and engineers, and many more.

The Fellowship is spread throughout the UK and internationally, with Fellows situated in 69 countries around the world.

Accounting and finance papers

Professor Christine Cooper and Dr Andrea Coulson have had their paper - 'Accounting for Human rights: Doxic Health and Safety Practices - the accounting lesson from ICL' - accepted for presentation at the Sixth Asia Pacific Interdisciplinary Research in Accounting (APIRA) conference in Sydney on July 12 and 13.

Dr Andrea Coulson and Norazita Marina Abdul Aziz have had their paper 'Social Responsibility Disclosure, Accountability Mechanisms and Empowerment: The Evidence of Mercy Malaysia' accepted for presentation also at the APIRA conference.

Following up on her after-dinner speech at the AGAM of the Safety and Reliability Society, Dr Coulson has had an article - 'Banking on Environmental Credit Risk Assessment' - published in the Journal of the Safety and Reliability Society (Spring 2010)
