Marketing professor judges African Management Research award

Professor Kevin Ibeh of the Department of Marketing was a judge in the 2009 Emerald/ALCS African Management Research Fund Award. Emerald and ALCS - The Authors' Licensing and Collecting Society - recently conveyed their appreciation to Professor Ibeh for the time, effort and expertise he invested in judging the award. As one of three expert judges, he assessed submissions for this important new initiative aimed at promoting management research and 'supporting the dissemination of knowledge for the social good in Africa'.

The award, organised in association with INASP and the Professor IbehInternational Academy of African Business and Development (IAABD), attracted a great number of high-quality submissions. It was won by Farai Kapfudzaruma and Ralph Hamman of the University of Cape Town, South Africa, for their entry on 'Business responses to climate change: exploring the emerging strategies in Africa'. These winners will receive £2,500 to fund their winning research project and will additionally be offered the assistance of an experienced Emerald editor or former editor to write a high-quality article for probable publication in a suitable Emerald journal.
