Centre for Charitable Giving and Philanthropy Inaugural Conference

Dr Eleanor Shaw, Jillian Gordon and Kay Henderson from the Hunter Centre for Entrepreneurship attended the Centre for Charitable Giving and Philanthropy (CGAP) Inaugural Conference in London on June 18. This is the first conference of the UK-wide CGAP of which Strathclyde Business School is a key partner together with Cass Business School, City University, the Universities of Edinburgh, Kent and Southampton, and the National Council for Voluntary Organisations.

The Hunter Centre was well represented throughout the conference with a paper from Dr Shaw entitled, "New Research on Entrepreneurial Philanthropy" and a workshop session in the afternoon chaired by Kay Henderson during which Jillian Gordon presented a well received paper based on her doctoral work - "The Practice of Entrepreneurial Philanthropy."

The thought-provoking keynote address was delivered by Mr John Anderson of the Entrepreneurial Exchange which has close links with The Hunter Centre for Entrepreneurship.
