Group Decision and Negotiation book published

A book co-edited by Professor Colin Eden (Department of Management) and Marc Kilgour, Professor of Mathematics at Wilfrid Laurier University, is published this month.

The Handbook of Group Decision and Negotiation provides an up-to-date comprehensive reference on new approaches to the idea of negotiation, group decision-making, and collaboration, utilising electronic and other systems, including the effects of such systems on traditional meetings. The field of Group Decision and Negotiation crosses many traditional disciplinary boundaries, and has connections to business administration and business strategy, management science, systems engineering, computer science, mathematics, and law, as well as economics, psychology, and other social sciences.

It is intended that the book becomes the major reference in the field. The only current references are the highly successful journal Group Decision and Negotiation, as well as the books of the Advances in Group Decision and Negotiation series, and a few other journals.

The book includes a chapter by Professor Fran Ackermann and Professor Eden, entitled, 'The Role of Group Decision Support Systems'.
