The 5th Hospitality and Tourism PhD research student colloquium took place on June 24. The participants for this event came from the departments of Management, Marketing, and Human Resource Management within the Business School. A wide range of research topics were covered including: changing public policies for tourism seasonality, destination loyalties, emerging markets penetration, internal marketing in the travel industry, occupational identity of Michelin star chefs, organisational culture and organizational citizenship behaviour, tourism consumer behaviour, tourism marketing in developing countries.

This event, open to research students and staff, provided an informal, intellectually lively and enjoyable gathering for PhD research students with an interest in hospitality and tourism management to discuss and share their research experiences. In addition, this event also offered a great opportunity for PhD research students to practise how to communicate and defend their research as well as learn how to give feedback to peer colleagues in public.

Winner of the annual Best Presentation award (including a £50 book voucher) was Ming-Chu Lin (Pearl) who presented on the topic of culinary creativity.

The Robert's fund supported this year's colloquium, of which Tzu-Hui Wang (Clara) was this year's student organiser, with support from Dr Paul Lynch and Professor Dora Scholarios.
