New York City competition for business students and alumni

A competition open to non-US business schools is giving students the opportunity to access funding and support to implement a business idea in New York City.

Teams of 2-5 students are invited to submit business plans for ideas that may be commercially viable in New York City for the NYC Business Plan Competition for International Students. Six teams of finalists - three undergraduate teams and three graduate teams - will win a six-day, all expenses paid trip to New York in April 2011 to participate in the final round of the competition which is to be hosted at Columbia University.

As well as funding prospects, the contestants will gain valuable experience interacting with leaders from top venture capitalist firms and businesses in New York, as well as opportunities to tour the city and learn about its business and entrepreneurship community.

Students and graduates from the past five years are eligible to enter, and business plans must be able to be launched in New York. The deadline for registration is October 15.

More information on the competition and eligibility to enter can be found on the NYCEDC website.
