Strathclyde academics attended the European Conference on Operational Research in Lisbon on July 11-14. Professor Fran Ackermann (Management Science) was invited to give a keynote speech entitled, "Problem Structuring Methods 'in the Dock'!: Arguing the case for Soft OR" which was well received. Professor Ackermann also did a presentation, "Getting messy with problems: The challenges of teaching soft OR".
Professor Ackermann also presented a paper together with Professor Colin Eden and Paul Nutt: "Enabling Politically Feasible Agreements: what is a group?" while Professor Eden presentation a separate paper, "Problem Structuring for Investing in an Uncertain Future."
