Dr Andrea Coulson of the Department of Accounting and Finance spent two weeks visiting Landcare Research Institute in Christchurch - one of New Zealand's crown research institutions - to work with Dr Shona Russell on the development of a water governance research project.

During this period, Dr Coulson presented a paper to the Landcare research teams in Christchurch, Wellington and Auckland on 'Environmental Credit Risk and Water Governance' and a joint presentation with Dr Russell on 'Water Governance' to Dr Coulsonthe Faculty of Law at the University of Otago, Dunedin, on July 21.

She has since presented a paper written with Professor Christine Cooper on "The ICL/Stockline Case - reflections on Bourdieu's 'collective intellectual'" at the 22nd International Congress on Social and Environmental Accounting Research, September 1-3, University of St Andrews. Also presenting papers at the Congress were Ita Abdul Aziz on 'Social Responsibility Disclosure and Accountability Relations: Evidence from Mercy Malaysia' and Stacey McPhail on 'Using Actor Network Theory to Map the Black Box of Drug Pricing Decisions'. Both students won ACCA scholarships administered by CSEAR to support their participation and helped the conference organisers by chairing parallel sessions.
