Marketing departments doctoral researchers moving on

Doctoral researchers from the Marketing Department appear to be bucking the trend of the current employment market by snapping up lecturing posts in reputable universities across the UK and beyond. Three such appointments were secured during the summer by Malcolm Stewart, Elsa Wilkin-Armbrister and Rebecca Liu, reflecting the strength and attractiveness of the department's brand nationally and internationally.

The first of these appointments was Malcolm Stewart's, whose research is in the area of international marketing, specifically advertising standardisation and the decision-making processes of multinational corporations operating in European markets. He has now joined Portsmouth Business School.

Elsa Wilkin-Armbrister, whose appointment was next announced, has also already taken up her lecturing post at Maastricht University in the Netherlands. Elsa's research is in the area of nation branding, destination branding, web 2.0 and social media.

Rebecca Liu has secured a lecturing job in the University of Sussex's School of Business and Management. Rebecca's research interests include new product development, dynamic capability and inter-firm relationships.
