Professor Tom Baum of the Department of Human Resource management has recently carried out research into tourism and large events, and how large events such as the Olympics and Commonwealth Games impact on the cities they are held in. Here he talks about the positives and negatives of such events and specific implications for large events with regards to employment and management of individuals for the duration.
