Following the successful inaugural event last year, academics from Strathclyde Business School will be exhibiting this year on November 2 at the Glasgow Science Centre alongside colleagues from across the university. Expo 2010 is a unique platform allowing academics to interact informally with organisations to discuss problems, ideas and potential collaborations, both for those who have specific projects in mind or those who simply want to find out more about the world-class, teaching, research and knowledge exchange activities which go on at Scotland's leading business school.
Staff will be on hand to explain the different funding mechanisms available to organisations, from SMEs to multi-nationals, and will be happy to discuss the wide range of services that Strathclyde Business School can provide - from consultancy services through to tailored education programmes.
Dr Kerem Akartunali will be hosting an introductory workshop looking at ways of reducing wastage and increasing productivity using optimisation, and Dr Steve Paton will be discussing how tailored education programmes can help firms gain the sustainable competitive advantage needed to compete in today's global economy.
Keynote addresses will be made by Lena Wilson, chief executive of Scottish Enterprise, and Melfort Campbell OBE.
