Academic is judge for Scotland's Young Entrepreneur of the Year

Professor Colin Mason of the Hunter Centre for Entrepreneurship was one of the judges for the Prince's Scottish Youth Business Trust's (PSYBT) Entrepreneur of the Year Award that was announced at a ceremony at Glasgow City Chambers on November 16. In his role as judge, Professor Mason and his fellow judge, businessman John MacDougall, had to visit the six national finalists, which involved travelling the length and breadth of Scotland over a two week period in October.

The winners were a Frenchman, Raphael Metayer and his Brazilian partner Carina Neubert Favero who founded the St Andrews Golf Experience which offers bespoke golf packages aimed at the European market. Runner-up was Gregor Mackintosh who produces Extra Virgin Cold Pressed Prof. MasonRapeseed Oil grown on his family farm under the brand, Mackintosh of Glendaveny. Underlining its close relationship with the PSYBT the Hunter Centre for Entrepreneurship has contributed one of the Entrepreneur of the Year judges for each of the past 10 years.
