Professor is Livewire judge

Professor Sara Carter (Hunter Centre for Entrepreneurship) was on the judging panel for the Shell Livewire Awards which were held in London recently. She was chair of the judging panel of experts which also featured Duncan Bannatyne. There were eight finalists, and Jessica Grosvenor – a 25 year old entrepreneur from Wolverhampton – was judged the winner of the prize worth £10,000.

Her business, Freelance Training and Consultancy, turned over £1.46 million in its first six months offering bespoke training across Health and Social Care and Leadership and Management using NHS qualified nurses and assessors who have been made redundant due to the reduction in NHS facilities. These skilled professionals have many years of experience and are now able to bring their knowledge to the private sector via Jessica's company on a freelance basis.
