Strathclyde Business School hosts CGAP Away Day

Strathclyde Business School hosted this year's Centre for Charitable Giving and Philanthropy (CGAP) away day on March 14.

CGAP is the UK's first research centre for charitable giving and philanthropy. It aims to develop knowledge and engage with donors, charities and practitioners. CGAP is a consortium of British research institutions with three main research themes: Individual and Corporate Giving, Grant-makers, and Charities, Social Justice and Policy.

The research is carried out in three groups - or 'spokes' - with Strathclyde comprising one group, Kent and Southampton another, and Edinburgh and Cass the third.

Professor Sara Carter, head of the Hunter Centre for Entrepreneurship, and Dr Eleanor Shaw welcomed the delegates. This was then followed by an update on all projects from the three 'spokes'.

A round table discussion took place at the end of the day, seeking to identify critical themes emerging from research across CGAP, and was hosted by Dr Shaw.
