Research Leaders for Tomorrow

Dr John Ferguson (Accounting and Finance) and Dr Kathy Hamilton (Marketing) have successfully completed the "Research Leaders for Tomorrow Programme" which ran from November 2010 to March 2011. Drs Ferguson and Hamilton were members of the team awarded first place at this year's final, judged by the panel comprising Principal of the University, Professor Jim McDonald, Dr Tony Mulholland from the Department of Mathematics and Statistics, and Carrie Shaw of Research & Knowledge Exchange Services.

The winning team has been awarded funding to organise a week-long pilot workshop and related follow-up meetings in order to identify, define, develop and solve problems from local organisations, charities, and SMEs that will facilitate new cross-disciplinary collaborations both within the University of Strathclyde as well as between University of Strathclyde and the local community.

Other members of the team include: Susan Rasmussen (Psychology), Steven Webb (Mathematics), Ian Whitfield (DMEM) and Qing Xiao (Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering).
