Hedge fund and shareholder presentation by professor

Professor David Hillier, Accounting and Finance, recently presented a three-hour workshop to the Securities and Exchange Commission in Bangkok, Thailand, on 'Hedge Funds and Institutional Shareholder Activism'. Professor Hillier was specially invited by the Thai Securities and Exchange Commission to make the presentation.

He was also an invited speaker to the AMBA annual conference for Deans and Directors in Geneva from May 25-27. As Vice-Dean Academic, Professor Hillier spoke about the three main areas of concern to business school deans and MBA directors which were the main areas of discussion at the conference:

1 Internationalisation and the changing competitive face of international business schools in emerging and developed markets;

2 Retention of quality faculty and staff engagement in executive PG programmes; financial viability of current business school business models;

3 Managing postgraduate student expectations and the changing skill and expectations set of millennial students (those born between 1980-2000).
