PhD students attend research workshop


Jaszmina Szendrey, Kanogkan Leerojanaprapa, Magdalena Gajdosz at the University of Cambridge

PhD students from the Management Science Department attended the 18th EPSRC (Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council) Research Methodology Workshop organised by the Institute for Manufacturing, University of Cambridge between March 31 and April 1. Jaszmina Szendrey presented to her peers the unique multiple-case study research process she is developing for her doctoral research, incorporating multiple research methods with data triangulation and using a knowledge-based expert system to collect and process the data. Kanogkan Leerojanaprapa and Magdalena Gajdosz also gave a presentation to their peers summarising the research design, data collection and analysis methods they are using in their doctoral research,

Magdalena and Jaszmina also attended the 17th Young OR conference organised by the Operational Research Society and held at the University of Nottingham between April 5 and 7. Magdalena Gajdosz presented in the Risk and Uncertainty stream on 'Organisational Effects on Operational Risk'; the presentation explored the modelling the impact of organisational factors on operational risk over time. Jaszmina Szendrey presented in the Soft Methods stream on 'Expert-Group: A New Research Method'; the presentation explored the development of a new methodological approach for a research in strategic decision support with knowledge-based expert systems.
