Student's internship success leads to job

Marketing student Peter Gollogly carried out a summer internship in Dubai and impressed the company so much that he has been given a job offer on satisfactory completion of his Honours year.

Peter, an Honours student of Marketing and Law, was working for Guardian Wealth Management, a financial services and sales company, and was the first intern to be taken on by the company. Amongst his tasks, he was asked to begin a challenging assessment programme to give him a good insight and overview into some of the elements required to provide a good service, such as the benefits of financial planning, anti-money laundering processes and financial marketing.

He was also required to complete a number of presentations in front of many large multi-national companies and clients. Being the first intern taken on by Guardian Wealth Management, the company put him on their website and published several articles about him in the financial press.

David Russell, the senior executive officer of Qatari office, found Peter to be highly worthy of his internship certificate, commenting, "We were really impressed by Peter's professionalism and dedication, and he certainly made the most of his time working with Guardian Wealth Management. Everyone in the office was impressed at how well he coped with each task presented to him. In fact, he did so well and his experience of working with Guardian Wealth Management has given him such a real drive and a newfound ambition for the industry that we hope he will find himself back in the employ of Guardian Wealth Management once he completes his Honours degree in 2012."
