Dr Kathy Hamilton, Dr Beverly Wagner and Dr Juliette Wilson (Department of Marketing), along with colleagues from HASS, have been awarded funding to host an event as part of the ESRC Festival of Social Science 2011 in connection with their "Nostalgia in the 21st century" project.
They will be organising an exhibition of photo-essays on the theme of school memories, to be installed throughout ESRC Festival Week at Scotland Street School Museum, Glasgow.
Also, in conjunction with Glasgow's annual Inspiration Festival, an arts event for young people, they will hold a workshop on November 5. The workshop, for children and their families, will draw on the photo-essays, and on the Museum's current exhibition of photographs of 1970s Glasgow, "The Glesga that I used to Know." It will encourage reflection on past school days and also on the way memories are preserved and passed on. Further information is available on the website.
