Conference talks for HRM professor

Professor Paul Thompson, Department of Human Resource Management, was invited to the Metropolitan University of Mexico by their head of labour studies to give the plenary speech at their annual conference. The speech was also webcast live to academics in a variety of other Latin American countries. While the conference went well, Professor Thompson reports that the legendary chaotic driving conditions were as stressful as he imagined!

He also had two other recent invites: the first was to give a plenary speech at a large conference of German sociologists of work at Jena University. He was also one of a small number of leading international academics who were invited to give talks at a workshop – Work After Fordism –organised by the Department of Management at Queen Mary University.
