Marketing alumni return to inspire current MSc Students

The Department of Marketing recently welcomed two of its international alumni as guest speakers to the department's flagship Masters in International Marketing programme.

Dr Juergen Brock, PhD Marketing graduate of 2000 and Senior Director & Head of Global Program Factory at Fujitsu Technology Solutions Munich, Germany, visited the department to talk about finding the right balance in international business strategies and management. His highly insightful and interactive lecture was very well received by the MSc in International Marketing students who honoured him with a resounding ovation.

Mr Hussam Asmar, Senior Marketing and Strategy Manager at Lafarge Jordan, was also guest speaker to this culturally diverse class (over 20 nationalities) during the semester. Hussam, a 2003 graduate of the MSc International Marketing, discussed some of the strategies employed by French cement giant, Lafarge, to achieve and sustain its brand dominance within the Jordanian market. His lecture was richly illustrated and very well received by the students who demonstrated their interest with an extensive series of questions.

Professor Kevin Ibeh, who hosted both guest speakers, thanked them profusely for making time, despite their busy schedules, to visit their alma mater and share their vast experiential knowledge with the Masters students. He expressed the department's pride in the impressive career achievements of both alumni and wished them greater success in the future.
