Global Ambassador programme for AMBA

Strathclyde full-time MBA student Sudharshan Rammesh Garg has been selected as one of the new Global AMBAssadors in an Association of MBAs (AMBA) initiative.

AMBA launched its Global AMBAssadors Programme at its first Global Leadership Conference in February.

MBA graduates and students from 20 business schools across the world who were put forward by their schools, will champion the quality and ethos of accredited MBAs and build networks among the MBA community and employers globally to promote ethical and innovative leadership.

Sharon Bamford, Chief executive of the Association of MBAs, said, "The AMBAssadors are all exceptionally committed and enthusiastic MBAs, who will champion quality management education and responsible leadership."

The AMBAssadors have been chosen by AMBA's accredited business schools to represent their school as well as the Association in its mission to build MBA networks across the world and connect business leaders, entrepreneurs and innovators.

Sudharshan said becoming a Global AMBAssador was to "be in the vanguard of an exciting and powerful movement."

He added, "This programme seemed like an ideal way to do something positive for both Strathclyde and the MBA programme at large.

"The initial meeting was simply brilliant - some 20 talented individuals from across the globe, the exchange of ideas and the mutual learning was very useful, and I think the meeting was a great success in getting the ball roling on this new concept of the AMBAssador programme.

"I hope to promote the value of an MBA, and more importantly the value of an accredited and recognised MBA to prospective students, and also be an AMBAssador to Strathclyde."

The 2012 Global AMBAssadors are from accredited business schools across the world including Australia, china, New Zealand, South Africa, Trinidad & Tobago, Italy, Croatia, Poland, France and the UK.

At the February conference, the AMBAssadors committed to establishing a mutually supportive global MBA network that actively promotes and embodies ethical leadership. This will enable practical networking opportunities in their regions and allow the AMBAssadors to continue the dialogue from the inaugural conference, held on February 25 and 26, about sustainability, geopolitical and faith issues and their impact on leadership. These topics will be reflected at the 2014 Global Leadership Conference to be hosted in one of the BRIC countries.
