Professor Christine Cooper served on a Centre for Research on Socio-Cultural Change (CRESC) Panel, Football and Broken Promises, on September 5 alongside David Conn (sports writer for the Guardian and author of The Beautiful Game? Searching for the Soul of Football and Richer than God: Manchester City, Modern Football and Growing Up) and Adam Leaver (from CRESC and Manchester Business School who researches on financial innovation, financialisation and elites). The panel generated significant interest and a further day seminar on football will be organised in 2013.
