Hunter Centre head at Entrepreneurial Exchange annual conference

Professor Eleanor Shaw, head of the Hunter Centre for Entrepreneurship, represented Strathclyde Business School at this year's Entrepreneurial Exchange Annual Conference in association with Clydesdale Bank which was held at the Gleneagles Hotel on March 13.

The conference featured inspirational stories from entrepreneurs and athletes.

Chris van der Kuyl, chairman of the Entrepreneurial Exchange, welcomed delegates, along with Scott McKerracher, regional director, East of Scotland, Clydesdale Bank. The conference also heard from Nigel Chadwick, Emerging Entrepreneur of the Year 2013, of Stream Communications, and Hamid Guedroudj, Entrepreneur of the Year 2013, of Petroleum Experts.

Steve Cram MBE and Padraig O'Ceidigh, founder of Aer Arran, also spoke at the conference. Richard Tait, founder of Cranium, was inducted into the 'Hall of Fame' which gives recognition to exceptional people and is modelled on the prestigious Academy of Distinguished Entrepreneurs at Babson College.

Professor Shaw said, "This was a great opportunity to mix with entrepreneurs across Scotland and to make connections for the business school, as well as highlight the work Strathclyde is involved in which led us to being named THE entrepreneurial university of the year."
