Teaching Excellence Awards 2014

The 5th Annual Strathclyde Teaching Excellence Awards took place on May 7 in the Strathclyde Student Union. The outgoing and incoming USSA Executive Officers, senior university staff, representatives from partner organisations and nominating students all gathered to welcome more than 100 lecturers to celebrate the Excellent Teaching provided across the institution.

Strathclyde Business School academics from the departments of Marketing, Management and the Hunter Centre for Entrepreneurship were all shortlisted. Dr Paul Ferri won “Best in Faculty” for Business, and he commented, “I was delighted to be nominated, and go on to win this category, especially as it’s all a direct result of students’ nominations.”

The results were as follows:

Best Overall Winner – John Levine
Shortlisted – John Murphy, Amanda Corrigan, Michael Marck, Kevin Pilkington, Gillian MacIntyre & Lizann Bonnar

Most Enthusiastic Winner – Gian-Luca Oppo
Shortlisted – Douglas Bertram, Anthony McGarry, Elspeth Jajdelska & Claire McAllister

Most Innovative Winner – Duncan Smeed
Shortlisted – Peter Cormack, Philip Sieb, Peter Davidson & Peter McInnes

Most Supportive Winner – Nigel Langford
Shortlisted – Andrew Briggs, Hilary Griesen, Phil Sayer & David Clelland

Best in Faculty Business Winner – Paul Ferri
Shortlisted – Michael Harker & Hilary Kane

Best in Faculty HaSS Winner – Gillian MacIntyre
Shortlisted – Lizann Bonnar & Alan McGroarty

Best in Faculty Science Winner – John Murphy
