Professor Christine Cooper (Accounting and Finance) was a plenary speaker at the Brazilian Accounting Congress (21 - 23 July 2014) held at the University of Sao Paulo, with approximately 1200 attendees. The conference was entitled Novas Perspectivas Na Pesquisa Contabil. (New Perspectives on Accounting Research). Professor Cooper’s plenary was entitled "Critical Perspectives in Accounting Research".
She was also one of the organisers of the Critical Perspectives in Accounting Conference which was held at the Executive Learning Center at the Schulich School of Business at York University, Toronto, 7-9 July 2014. The CPA conference is an established forum for critical, and other interdisciplinary approaches to the study of accounting phenomena. It brings together scholars in the fields of accounting, management and the broader social science disciplines. In addition, it attracts practitioners and policy makers.
