New book follows conference organised by Strategy and Organisation academic

Dr Andrew Perchard, Strategy and Organisation, along with his colleagues, Drs Mats Ingulstad and Espen Storli, see the release of their new book, “Tin and Global Capitalism, 1850-2000: A History of the ‘Devil's Metal’" this month in the Routledge International Studies in Business History series.

Professor Geoff Jones, Isidor Strauss Professor of Business History at Harvard Business School (HBS), has described the book as "bringing an impressively new perspective to the history of globalization... The primary achievement is the impressively global perspective... The multi-disciplinary and global approach of the book is a role model for an emergent history of capitalism in which business enterprises and markets are firmly located as actors within a broad economic, social and political environment."

The book emerged out of a conference organised by Drs Perchard, Ingulstad and Storli at HBS in June 2012 through their History and Strategic Raw Materials Initiative.
