Centre for Corporate Connections alumni taster sessions

Over the summer of 2014 the Centre for Corporate Connections launched its first taster sessions for SBS alumni. The series of three-hour sessions were offered to alumni in middle and senior management positions and topics included Leadership, Project Management, Unleashing your Entrepreneurial Potential & Maximising Managerial Effectiveness. All sessions except Project Management, which was delivered via two webinars, were in the Centre's executive education facility on campus.

Alumni came from a range of sectors from the health service to legal practices, oil and gas to banking, with a number of self-employed entrepreneurs included. Participants enjoyed both the taster session content alongside the opportunity to network with fellow alumni and reconnect with the university. One participant said, "It's great to be back at Strathclyde and revisit some of my old haunts. I've really enjoyed the practical sessions on Leadership which have helped me to assess and develop my own leadership skills further."

This series of classes was offered with the assistance of the University of Strathclyde Knowledge Exchange Development Fund, designed to support knowledge exchange activities between the University and external organisations and enable re-engagement with alumni.
