Keynote speech for MBA academic at AMBA Refresher course in Barcelona

Dr George Burt (Management) as one of three keynote speakers – joining colleagues from IESE and EADA - at the Association of MBA's (AMBA) MBA Refresher event in Barcelona in May.

Dr Burt's research is on the organisation-environment relationship, taking an action research approach using in-depth, longitudinal case studies, and his talk will be, "Environmental scanning, scenario planning and the process of organisational change".

The MBA refresher courses are aimed at supporting MBA graduates' continuous professional development and lifelong learning. The Association of MBAs has successfully run MBA refresher courses in partnership with business schools across the UK to international audiences of alumni but the Barcelona event is the organisation's inaugural event outside of the UK and hopefully will be of interest to our alumni in and around Barcelona.

Other speakers were Professor Albert Fernandez, Associate Professor of Accounting and Control at IESE, whose talk was entitled "Initiatives in Entrepreneurship: Lessons Learnt," and Professor Franc Ponti, Director of EADA's Center of Innovation, who talked on "Change it if it works: 7 innovation strategies for liquid times".

The event was hosted in Barcelona at IESE Business School, Barcelona Campus.>
