EERN Event Series Developing Ecosystem Shapers - Acting Beyond Institutional Boundaries
Event Date: 5 December 2016
Location: Strathclyde Business School, 199 Cathedral Street, Glasgow, G4 0QU
Time: 2pm – 7pm (registration opens at 1:30pm)
The Entrepreneurship Ecosystem Research Network Ltd (EERN) is an international community and think tank that connects researchers, policy makers, entrepreneurs, and other ecosystem stakeholders. EERN was founded with the goal of supporting innovation, entrepreneurship and growth in regions around the world through research and collaboration. Public events and workshops, working groups and regional chapters, and the think tank form EERN’s portfolio and will help strengthen links between theory and practice. For further information please visit http://eernetwork.org.
This event serves as the kick-off for the EERN Event Series in Scotland, the UK, and beyond. The ecosystem concept has gained tremendous attention in recent years from both academics and practitioners. However, while entrepreneurship ecosystems stress the role of entrepreneurs and organisations, a lot of questions remain unanswered and the implications for individuals, institutions, and policy are yet to be fully explored.
During this half-day event, participants will be the first cohort to learn more about EERN, our work and the initiatives that we run, and how to get involved and work with us. Furthermore, this event will shed light on the role of individuals and organisations within ecosystems and build a foundation for future events. Renowned keynote speakers will present findings and pose questions and engage with the audience on current trends and issues during an interactive panel discussion. Networking opportunities and a working session, where participants collaboratively develop strategies in small groups, will complete the event.
Confirmed speakers include
- Ben Spigel (University of Edinburgh)
- Bruce Walker (WeAreTheFuture)
- Bernd Wurth (University of Strathclyde / EERN)
The full list of speakers and a detailed agenda will be published soon.
The event is free and open to the public. To book a place please register here
