Abstract:

This seminar will cover a mix of 3 papers.
(1)    Unruly Innovation: Distributed Ledgers, Blockchains and the Protection of Transactional Rents, is an accessible to anyone piece on blockchains and particularly the implications of DAOs.
(2)    Practical Byzantine Fault Tolerance and Payment Transaction Networks: Decentralized Transaction Clearing Beyond Blockchains
(3)    And a work in progress: FuturesMEX: Secure Distributed Futures Market Exchange, which is a proper cryptography paper on how to build a fully functional transactional market using secure multi-party computation.
