Professor Ryals specializes in key account management (KAM) and marketing portfolio management, particularly relating to profitable customer management in the business-to-business context. At Cranfield she is involved in research and executive development programmes for clients in professional services and manufacturing. She is also the Director of Cranfield's Key Account Management Best Practice Research Club and, since 2007, has been the Director of the Demand Chain Management Community and a member of the School of Management's Executive Board. She is the Pro Vice Chancellor of Cranfield University.
