Dr Philip Riddle, OBE, is an experienced business leader whose career has included 23 years with Shell International Petroleum, 9 years as Chief Executive of VisitScotland and spells in private equity and overseas economic development. He recently returned to academia to complete a PhD at the University of Edinburgh studying financial services businesses in Glasgow and Edinburgh. Amongst his findings he concludes that one way for the financial services industry in Scotland to address Brexit is to capitalise on the synergies between the two major cities and between the strong and dynamic financial and IT sectors to secure a global position in Fintech.
