Date: Monday 9 December 2019
Time: 10.00am

Professor Torres is a distinguished academic and activist in the Amazonian region. Alongside publishing widely, he is a regular contributor to the Intercept and The Guardian.
He will present his work from the Amazonian frontier including his participation in the recent 'Forest COP: Amazon: Centro do Mondo' event in the heart of the region.
It is anticipated that the talk will provoke discussion and debate towards an intervention in the COP26 Climate change conference that is held in Glasgow, 9-19 November 2020. All who are interested in the social aspect of contemporary Amazonian conflict and climate change, and in working towards an event during COP 26 are very welcome.
