User and community co-production for a more resilient society

The COVID-19 pandemic has shown the important and distinctive contributions that communities can make to better public outcomes. The question is to what extent and how can public services make better use of community power to achieve a more resilient and just society and make public policies more effective in a post-Covid world.
This interactive workshop will showcase good practice in user and community co-production in key public services in Scotland and internationally, ranging from employment services to criminal justice and social care. It will explore how the evidence base for the effects of co-production on public value can be strengthened. Co-production champions will present their experiences to date and participants will be encouraged to co-design new projects with staff from the University of Strathclyde.
This event is relevant to all public service commissioners and providers wishing to improve public value, including representatives of local authorities, social work, NHS, Police Scotland, prison services and employment agencies. We also welcome local community representatives, e.g. from Community Planning Partnerships, who are interested in collaborating with public services.
