Introduction to Sustainable Development: Policy and Practice - short course. Fully funded places available.
Event Date: 16 April 2024 - 23 April 2024
This short course offers participants a wide overview of frameworks for embedding sustainable development objectives in their work. It will discuss some key tools and approaches from an international perspective to inspire them to apply solutions in their local context.
If you are interested in learning more about sustainable development and its applications in policy and practice or work in a role requiring you to use Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as a framework for measuring success or setting goals, then this short course is ideal for you.
It will equip you with confidence to use tools like Theory of change and develop roadmaps towards improved practices in the context of their work (organisation/policy body/business). You will also gain an understanding of how to engage with communities and different stakeholders in order to understand their needs across this process.
As a result of the course you will develop greater critical and systemic thinking skills, regarding interdependencies between policies and interventions that aim at achieving sustainability. You will identify positive and negative impacts from pursuing any aspect of sustainability (social, economic or environmental), as well as business and institutional responsibility issues that relate to achieving equitable outcomes.
Delivery mode
Online (1h ‘live’ zoom sessions offered at 4 times across the course for the cohort to meet and benefit from further guidance).
