Photo essays are a common and useful assessment tool within the social sciences and humanities, and therefore have the potential to provide intricate insights to our understanding of organisations and consumption. The use of photo essays can be an attractive and effective medium for students to learn theories and concepts compared to textbooks and traditional lectures.

In this session we hope to share our preliminary findings from a pilot photo essay assessment project we undertook at undergraduate level. We will showcasethe process, advantages, and weaknesses of using reflective photo essays for experiential learning and offer a set of recommendation.

We aim to offer a set of recommendations and benefits as to how photo essays have the potential to provide valuable output for stakeholders, providing visual evidence to areas which require action.
