Brief introduction:
The characteristics and principles inherent in natural ecosystems have not been fully integrated into the conceptualization of service ecosystems. This research advances the concept of a Transformative Service Ecosystem (TSE), defined as “a mutualistic and regenerative network of service actors that synergistically elevate the human experience.” We investigate and evaluate (using ecological concepts) a service ecosystem of 14 human service organisations designed to create a safety net for people experiencing vulnerabilities. We offer insights to for-profit service ecosystems that can benefit from the practice of biomimicry.
