Monday 14 Oct 2024 at 11:00 (BST, GMT+1): From Classroom to Consultancy

Hear from Dr Shaker Mouhamad Ali Agha and discover how the practical elements of our Business Analysis and Consulting Masters programme empower students to thrive in the consulting industry.

Monday 14 Oct 2024 at 12:30 (BST, GMT+1): Driving Change: How AI and ESG Are Reshaping Corporate Finance Decision-Making

In this mini-lecture Dr Panos Loukopoulos, Senior Lecturer in Accounting, will examine how managers are responding to the growing demand for ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) disclosure and transparency, and how they are integrating these factors into their decision-making processes.

We will also explore the transformative potential of artificial intelligence (AI) in corporations: how AI affects employee productivity, supports strategic decision-making, and its emerging role in the analysis of financial data.

Finally, we will discuss how a Finance Masters programmes at Strathclyde Business School can equip you with the mindset and skills needed to address these questions, applying theoretical knowledge to these real-world challenges.

Tuesday 15 Oct 2024 at 11:00  (BST, GMT+1): The Future of Management 

The nature of management is going through cumulative and seismic changes across many sectors which has notable ramifications for managerial skill development. Increasing digitisation, agile and remote working and systems re-engineering are some of the key challenges businesses are facing. This mini lecture by Academic Director Kathryn Thory discusses the new management skills required to succeed in today’s workplaces and the manager’s critical role in developing performance, communicating, and nurturing employee wellbeing.

Through an exploration of these managerial elements, the lecture showcases the core themes of the Professional Management Practice module on the MBM and MIM programmes.  Whether you're a recent graduate or a working professional looking to enhance your managerial skills, this mini lecture will provide you with valuable guidance to make an informed decision about your future.
