About the Stephen Young Institute for International Business:
The Stephen Young Institute for International Business, part of Strathclyde Business School, takes a multidisciplinary approach to addressing global business challenges. Named after Professor Stephen Young, former Head of Strathclyde’s Marketing Department and cofounder of Strathclyde International Business Unit, the Institute focuses on international and sustainable business, international marketing, international entrepreneurship, and global innovation. Consistent with the University’s values we are concerned with responsible management and equitable flows of value. Building on SBS’s rich history in marketing, innovation and entrepreneurship, the Institute is bold and ambitious in addressing systemic challenges, such as sustainability and inequality, through collaborative international business research and deep stakeholder engagement. The Institute was created through a generous gift from Strathclyde alumnus, Dr Charles Huang who completed his MBA and PhD at SBS. Dr Huang’s donation also funds the Stephen Young Global Leader Scholarship Programme, the Stephen Young Entrepreneurship Awards, and the Charles Huang Advanced Technology & Innovation Centre.
