“Marketing Theory: Past, Present & Future” 3rd International Research Conference in Marketing

Event Date: 15 May 2014

The 3rd International Research Conference in Marketing is a research forum for doctoral and graduate students engaged in research about the Marketing discipline. The conference will take place at the University of Strathclyde on the 15th of May 2014.

The conference is a rare opportunity for an exchange of research experiences concerning marketing issues in the scientific and business environment in order to promote marketing knowledge amongst researchers by disseminating new research findings, and by encouraging the evolution of new research topics. It also serves as a platform for the transfer of knowledge and interaction between academics and PhD Students. The participants will also benefit from attending the presentations of two keynote speakers, who will present their thoughts with regards to the new trends in the marketing discipline.

Students at an early stage of their doctoral studies should have a (tentative) proposal for the topic they want to study, literature review, the method they want to use, and their potential contribution. This will help them benefit from suggestions on how to focus their work, relevant areas of literature to explore in more depth, and/or advice on methods and analysis. Students at a later stage of their doctoral studies can benefit from the conference by subjecting the positioning of their research to a critical review, refining their data collection approach, and/or receiving suggestions for translating their work into papers that can be submitted to highly ranked journals.

Papers accepted to the conference will give a presentation of their work following which they will receive feedback and comments from academic staff and other PhD students. Doctoral presentations will take place in parallel tracks based on the conceptual and/ or methodological focus of the participants work alongside the stage of their doctoral work. All participants will receive a certificate of attendance.
