New Economic Futures work placements available

Economics Futures and the Fraser of Allander Institute are delighted to announce the latest round of work placements for applied economists - for 2020, there are 17 placement opportunities in 12 organisations.

Applications are open to students studying at a Scottish University, completing third or fourth year of an undergraduate degree in Economics or a related subject.

Economics Futures is an initiative – supported by the Scottish Funding Council – designed to support the development of applied economists in Scotland, with a particular focus on diversity and providing opportunities for everyone with an interest in helping to solve society’s greatest challenges through economics.

Professor Graeme Roy of the Fraser of Allander Institute said, “Back in 2019 when we first launched our work placement scheme, we were hugely impressed by the calibre of students applying for the roles.

”This year, with the support of the Scottish Funding Council, we have more than doubled the number of work placements available. We couldn’t do this without the support of our partner organisations who will be hosting the students on the projects.”
